This Summer 2nd New Haw Scouts and Phoenix Explorer Scouts are visiting Switzerland for a week of Adventurous Activities and Swiss Culture at the Kandersteg International Scout Centre with Scouts from all over Surrey. We last visited the centre in 2006 and we're really looking forward to visiting again this year. During our stay we'll be updating this page with details of our stay. Kandersteg is located in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland. The village is nestled in a valley and is surrounded by mountains and glaciers. The Scout Centre was first opened in 1928 and has been an International home for Scouting ever since. We've got lots of activities planned for our visit including paddling in a glacial lake, rafting, mountain hiking (including an overnight stay for the Explorer Scouts), high ropes as well as meeting Scouts from all over the Globe. Visit our daily reports using the calendar below. We're also going to update the camp blog.
