Pathers and Badgers Cub Scout Packs headed to Ranmore campsite on Bank Holiday weekend for this year's Fathers and Sons Camp.
All week we had been reviewing the weather forecasts that didn't look too promising. After setting up camp on the Friday night we awoke on Saturday ready for an action packed day of activities. The Cubs got to build ballistas (large catapults), make Robin Hood hats, cook pancakes, fire lighting and have a go at Archery. Luckily the weather stayed fine until the activities finished when the heavens opened. After a rather damp dinner we had a campfire and a few songs but the rain damped our spirits and many of us headed to bed.
On Sunday the Cubs did branding and launched their ballistas in a massive water fight. All too soon it was time to start packing up and getting ready to head home. We had a great weekend and who knows maybe next time we're have a dry camp!
